Ram Academy appreciative of local business generosity

OWASSO —

Ram Academy plays a special role in the Owasso school district.
“Ram Academy is the drop-out prevention and intervention recovery program for the more than 40 students who wouldn’t graduate without this school,” said Ram Principal Joanna Woodard.
The school instructs at-risk youth and students who are on their way to dropping out or have already done so.
Although Ram enjoys smaller class sizes, it has still felt the state budget crunches. School administrators across the state, as well as at Ram, increasingly find themselves relying on outside funding sources.
Ram will host its fourth annual fundraiser — a dinner and silent auction with many highly-coveted items up for bid from area businesses and national retailers.
The money raised will pay for school activities and updated books and materials.
The event will be held in Ram’s cafeteria on Saturday, April 28 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25 per person; corporate table sponsorships are available starting at $100. Donations are also accepted.
Woodard expects about 100 people in attendance, including faculty and parents of students. One thing that draws many to the fundraiser is the high quality of the items being auctioned off, she said.
“The most anticipated item is a round of golf for four at The Patriot, “Woodard said. “This is the second year that The Patriot has donated to the fundraiser, and we appreciate the continued support.”
Woodard received support from many other businesses as well. “It was easy to obtain our gift packages and baskets from various businesses,” she said. “They have all been very willing and generous.”
Other items to be auctioned include vacation packages to Kansas City, St. Louis, and Dallas with baseball tickets, overnight hotel stays and restaurant vouchers; an overnight stay at the Price Tower in Bartlesville; Tulsa Shock and Tulsa 66ers tickets; Owasso Ram season passes; books; and gift certificates.
Tickets can be purchased and donations made at the Ram Academy office or by calling (918) 272-8040.
